The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director with a robust background in systems design for protection and automation for high voltage substations and switchyards. As a pivotal leader in our growing 25-member design team, you will oversee complex projects that range in scale, you’ll be providing technical expertise, mentorship, and strategic guidance to ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and guide design project teams, ensuring high standards of technical quality and compliance with industry best practices.

- Engage effectively with stakeholders, including clients, industry groups, and internal teams, to deliver outstanding project outcomes.

- Drive continuous improvement in design processes, health, safety, and environmental standards.

- Provide technical leadership, solve significant design challenges, and mentor team members to develop their professional skills.

- Maintain and grow Edison's reputation through excellent client service and thought leadership within the industry.

About you

- Significant experience in design engineering, particularly in systems for protection and automation for high voltage substations and switchyards.

- Proven track record of technical leadership and project management across multidisciplinary, complex projects.

- Strong industry connections and recognition as an expert in your field.

- Relevant degree in engineering and Chartered Engineer certification or similar.

- Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office suite.
