Skills and experience

We are looking for an Overhead Lines Designer who can deliver high‑quality design outcomes and contribute to our team’s ongoing growth and capability.

You will bring some of the following skills and strengths:

Technical skills

  • Experience in overhead line design and modelling in the distribution or HV industry
  • Solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, and network requirements
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality data and records
  • Strong skills in spatial data capture, analysis, and visualisation
  • Understanding of “as-built” drawings and how they translate into asset records

Tools & systems

  • Neara system expertise (highly preferred)
  • Experience with Catan, Poles & Wires, or similar design tools

Additional desirable backgrounds

  • Practical experience in distribution line construction and looking to transition off the tools, ideally with some IT capability
  • OR a junior qualified electrical engineer keen to grow their design skills and establish themselves in the industry
