National (Design) Manager

About the role

Reporting and working closely with the GM Design and Advisory and as a key member of the Management Team, the Design Manager focusses on developing and leading the Edison Design Team and oversees all aspects of the design team’s delivery.

This role offers a leadership opportunity within a successful and growing NZ business, comprised of a diverse team of professional and highly capable design engineers (approx. 20).

Role may be based at any of our offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch.

Skills and experience

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to work to a high standard, motivating others to do the same. To do this, you're highly organised and understand the power of structured processes in a busy and dynamic environment. You’ll be a strategic, innovative and analytical thinker and excited about making a positive impact with a strong sense of people-first.

You’ll be an authentic leader with an effective communication style and have experience managing teams of technical professionals. Working with our people and stakeholders, you will naturally inspire trust and confidence and grow effective relationships.

You will have:

  • Design and Design Team Management experience, in the power industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching technical professionals.
  • A continuous improvement approach to using and enhancing systems.
  • Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
  • Alignment with Edison’s values: integrity, care, quality, fairness.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • CPEng.
