Planning is underway to open an Edison office in Christchurch to attract and retain the best talent to deliver exceptional service to our South Island clients. This expansion is part of Edison’s long term strategy to prepare for growth, and the transformation of the electricity industry.
Michael Nicholson, General Manager Strategic Projects shared the recruitment plans “We will offer all of the skill sets currently based in the North Island, and we are kicking off our first phase of recruitment now. I’m excited to be re-establishing a team to drive our South Island operation. It’s an exciting time in the industry and within Edison.”
An initial phase of recruitment will commence shortly for an Area Manager and Senior Project Manager. The South Island based appointments will enable a dedicated local service for the South Island and free up much needed resources in the North Island. In addition, reducing inter-island travel will have a positive environmental impact. The plan is to open the new Christchurch office by the end of 2021, Covid-19 and travel restrictions permitting.
