Experienced Director Julie Bohnenn Joins Edison Consulting Group as Board Chair

Edison Consulting Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Bohnenn as Board Chair. Julie brings extensive governance, commercial, and executive leadership experience to the organisation at a pivotal time for New Zealand's infrastructure future.

As an accomplished professional director and business advisor, Julie offers a broad commercial perspective shaped by her leadership roles across sectors such as agriculture, retail, healthcare, financial services, travel, and consumer sectors. Her current governance positions include serving on the boards of Farmlands Co-operative Society, Bremworth, Forte Health, and Reform Radiology. In these roles, she contributes her expertise in audit and risk, strategic growth, governance, and business transformation.

Before transitioning to a professional director, Julie spent more than two decades in senior leadership roles at House of Travel Group, where she served as Chief Financial Officer and Business Partnership Director. A Fellow Chartered Accountant, she possesses significant experience in navigating market disruption, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and stakeholder engagement.

Julie expressed her enthusiasm about joining Edison during this transformative period. “The energy and infrastructure sectors are entering a phase of rapid change as New Zealand works to decarbonise, enhance resilience, and invest in the infrastructure needed to support economic growth.”

“What particularly appealed to me about joining Edison’s Board of Directors was the combination of technical capability and sector credibility that the organisation has built over three decades, along with the opportunity to help shape the next phase of the business’s growth. There is significant momentum in the market, and Edison is well-positioned to capitalise on that.”

Founder and Director, Michael Nicholson, emphasised the value Julie's appointment brings to Edison’s governance team. “Julie brings extensive governance and commercial leadership experience, along with a proven track record of helping organisations navigate growth, complexity, and change. Her experience across multiple sectors, combined with strong financial and strategic capabilities, will add real value as Edison continues to strengthen its position as a leading consultancy.”

Chief Executive Michael Prance said Julie’s appointment is another positive step for Edison. “Julie brings strong commercial insight and a very practical governance perspective. As Edison continues to grow, that experience will help us keep asking the right questions, make good decisions, and stay focused on building a strong and sustainable business.”

Edison also recognises the substantial contribution of outgoing Board Chair Craig Hattle, whose leadership and stewardship were instrumental in guiding the business through a vital period of growth and evolution. He played a crucial role in strengthening Edison’s governance foundations and positioning the business for its next phase of growth. We thank him for his commitment and contributions to Edison.
