With a shortage of Electrical Engineers in New Zealand, time spent connecting with, and encouraging electrical engineering students is vital. During July Campbell Hammond, David Webb and Tani Hansen represented Edison at the annual Power Careers Convention at the University of Canterbury.
The event enabled students to discuss career pathways in the sector and hear directly from experienced engineers about the opportunities available to them. We gained unique insights into the values, passion and perspectives of attendees and introduced the Edison brand to our future engineers. The orange Jet Plane lollies on offer were a hit!
Thank you to Campbell, David, and Tani for their investment of time, and for fostering connections with the talented students of University of Canterbury.
This event was made possible by the hosts, EPECentre (Electric Power Engineering Centre), and PEET (Power Engineering Excellence Trust), the event facilitators. Edison is proud to support PEET as a member.
