Our capabilities continue to grow with Edison's inhouse consent specialist procuring an important global consent in Wellington, new team members in Tauranga and an easy way for you to contact us.
Edison's consent specialist negotiates an important Global Resource Consent with Wellington City Council on behalf of Wellington Electricity and effectively sets a precedent for other network utility operators undertaking similar seismic resiliance programmes.
The document represents a ‘global’ consent which in effect licences external remediation works on ALL of Wellington Electricity’s zone and distribution substation assets in Wellington City’s jurisdiction (barring a few exceptions i.e. heritage listed buildings). This vastly differs from the norm where a consent usually applies to only one site.
Not only is the global consent a great win for the client, but it also makes a statement that we have bona fide in-house consenting experience.
Eric's background is varied and interesting. A former Power System Technician specialising in system protection who until recently was contracting with an R&D team developing protection and communication software, he is also a Registered Electrical Inspector.
After moving to the sunny Bay of Plenty Eric has been a contractor for the past 10 years and is now working with Edison Consulting Group on the Substation Management System (SMS) Upgrade.
Eric likes spending time enjoying and exploring the great outdoors with his partner Tracey and two young children. Gardening (at recent check nuturing caterpillars), biking and skiing are all favourite pastimes.
"Life's too short to drink bad coffee."
